Student Responsibilities

ALEX HOPE ELEMENTARY –
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

At Alex Hope we strive to create a safe, respectful and welcoming school environment. This environment is characterized by positive relationships between students, staff and parents. Alex Hope recognizes that bullying and intimidation have a negative effect on the learning climate of the school. Every student has the right to an education and the right to be and feel safe in and around the school.

All students have responsibilities while at school. This includes travelling to and from school as well as attendance at all school sponsored games and functions. Our expectation for student behaviour is divided in three major areas: Safety, Respect and Responsibility. Please see our Alex Hope Expected Behaviour Matrix for more information. CLASSROOM RULES

The teachers at Alex Hope Elementary School believe that every student wishes to be a successful learner. In order to bring about this success, each teacher develops an appropriate learning climate according to his or her subject discipline and teacher practices. The teacher’s expectations and regulations will be explained to students in the first few days of class. Students are then required to follow these rules set out in each of their classes.
