Parents/Guardians of our Grade 7 Students:
Our grade 7 events are coming up quickly. The students will be on the water, canoeing, on June 22nd and then taking part in the Grade 7 Celebration on June 23rd.
On June 22nd the grade 7 students will be heading to Pitt Lake, to canoe up Widgeon Creek and then, if time allows, take part in a small hike. This is a fun, collaborative activity, and a great way to get out in nature. Students will be required to bring their own lunch and water bottle. Buses will load and students will depart Alex Hope just after 9am and will return at approximately 1:30. More information about what to bring, and what forms/waivers need to be signed and returned will be coming in the next few weeks.
On June 23rd we will celebrate the end of the Alex Hope journey with our grade 7 students. The ceremony will take place in the morning, starting at 9am and will run for approximately an hour. Doors will open at 8:50am. Students will receive their certificate, speakers will say a few words to recognize this moment in time, and then there will be time for pictures. We hope to start the student only portion of the festivities at 10:30. We strongly recommend students come with a change of clothes as they will be given a chance to change before heading outside for games, inflatables, food trucks, music, dessert, and more photos. A link to a video will be sent home to view on-line once we’ve had time to add pictures and videos of the days events. Two food trucks will be on site: Memphis Mikes BBQ they will be offering a choice of a Pulled Pork Sandwich and Coleslaw or Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw. Or students can choose lunch from G’s Donairs who will offer a variety of G’s Donairs.png . Drinks, snacks, dessert will also be provided. The day will end at our regular school time – 2:20pm.
Once your child has decided on what they would like to order for lunch, we ask that you fill in this form. Simply list your child’s name and make their lunch selection. We would like to give the Food Trucks a ‘heads up’ so they can be prepared for the lunch rush.
There is a cost associated with the Canoe Trip and to help off-set some of the cost of the Grade 7 Celebration.
The $40 payment which covers the field-trip and a portion of the Grade 7 Celebration can be made on-line via school cash on-line.
