Principal’s Message

Welcome to a new year at Alex Hope Elementary!  I have had the opportunity of being the principal of this good school for the past 3 years. I really believe that I have been blessed with this assignment. As I enter my fourth year, I once again welcome our new families to our school and also welcome back our returning families. As you can see, our school website contains pertinent information about the school, health and nutrition, emergency procedures, district news, parent information, etc., a goldmine of info. I ask that parents and students alike become involved in school activities sponsored by parents, students and staff. Become involved as a volunteer or a participant. An ancient African proverb states “that it takes an entire village to raise a child”. Further evidence that we need parents, staff, and students acting as one in the best interest of the Alex Hope School community. With parent involvement, students’ academic and social achievement will improve. With our talented staff here at Alex Hope, our great parents working together and enthusiastic students, I know that our students and parents are in for a tremendous and exciting year. Go Gators!

Vice-Principal’s Message

What a wonderful year to join the Alex Hope team! As Greater Vancouver/Whistler prepares to host the Olympics, we too, at Alex Hope will share in the enthusiasm and optimism that the Olympics bring. It’s an opportunity for our students and staff to use the momentum to strive for our personal and collective best. 2009 - 2010 will be a great year! The Alex Hope community is a strong one. With continued teamwork between parents and the school there are no limits as to what can be achieved by our students. I am very excited to be a part of the Alex Hope community and look forward to working with staff, students and families of our school as GATORS GO FOR THE GOLD!

On January 12th a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Haiti.  When the Haitians needed assistance, the Alex Hope Community responded very positively.  Our two day campaign, Jan. 20th and 21st, -Toonies for Haiti - raised over a staggering $1800.00 with every contribution matched by the Federal Government.  Congratulations to the Alex Hope Community, You Rock!!!!
